New
York Public Library Seward Park Branch Library
This
library is one of the original Carnegie libraries built in 1909. Hom+Goldman undertook
the challenge of researching the appropriate finishes, details, colors and materials
that were typical of a public library at the turn of the century. The firm was
also able to retain the openness of the historic central stairway by introducing
additional sprinkler heads and providing alternate requested safety features.
