SUNY
Binghamton University Union
This $24 million expansion of the existing
Student Union is a 2-phased project; of which Phase I is completed.
The building includes typical student center functions, such
as a post office, an auditorium, student organizations, radio
and TV stations and the food court. One of the design features
is a clock tower to tie together the upper and lower campuses.
Also, the complexity of this 600'-long building illustrated
how Hom+Goldman brought order from a pre-existing chaotic situation,
tying the building into the pedestrian and vehicular campus
patterns.
