SUNY
Stony Brook Student Center
This is a $21 million, 2-phased facility
of great complexity in terms of the variety of interrelated
spaces and incorporation of phased design and construction processes.
The first phase included: conference rooms, an auditorium, student
activity spaces, a 500-seat cafeteria and an outdoor landscaped
court. The second phase is currently in construction, and adds
multi-purpose rooms, a lounge, a wellness center and a faculty
office.
Hom+Goldman redesigned a single building into a major reconfiguration
of this campus by developing the building as the portal to the
campus and designing a new campus Mall, entry road and drop-off
area.
